But the fact of it was that he was "Damaged-Goods" after two brutal beating from Mike Tyson. Larry Merchant asked if that was the reason for his abysmal performance. Ruddock replied: "i don't know!...I was there to support Lennox Lewis, i thought he could go on to be a world beater. i believed the Lewis hype back in 1992-1994 i was there the night Oliver McCall very easily walked right through him, silencing 14,000 fans. myself included. i then watched closely as Lewis and his team carefully and systematically avoided every top fighter in the world who was "At the Top of their Game". They hand-picked their opponents for harmlessness. while putting out the line, "Everyone was afraid of Lewis".. even Rid**** Bowe came onto National Television here in the UK live` prime time TV and called out Lewis for a guaranteed £10 million in 1995 when neither boxer held a world title. The British press went into overdrive for the next 2 weeks at the prospect of such a huge fight. Yes, of course you were Sonny.

Hey, by the way, what's the x2 in your name stand for? I find it funny that a 45-50 year old man (minimum), very likely older if you are in the ring or ringside with Ruddock and Merchant right after the fight in the early 90's (because what 20 year old random local kid is going to be there with the post fight interview...), who would have grown up without the internet and all that goes with it, would use such a young kids term in their username?

Very odd thing for an old fella to do. Act like such a childish twat and have a little kids username.

      Think quick Sonnyboyx2.

Have you dropped your Lewis/Sanders fight spiel for '95 then? You've moved on have you? Smart boy.

Still waiting for the fight program. Where is it?

Or is it that he's now ducking both Bowe, with all this publicity in the UK and all during '95 for their Superfight, as well as Sanders? Phew, he must have been exhausted from all these fights he's got signed and is ducking. That's probably why he got stopped by McCall. Organising too many fights for '95.

Funny though, that there was no mention of Sanders anywhere in the UK press despite you having an official fight program saying that a fight had been set up between the two promotions and was all set for '95 already. So, it was all about Bowe, but not a single mention anywhere of Sanders, even though you say Sanders was actually the fight they had set up all along, which Lewis then ducked.

        Amazing stuff Sonnyboyx2.

So, you gonna put up that official fight program or not? You've gone awful quiet about it. Suddenly no mention of it at all, after yapping like a little chihuahua nonstop, since I asked about it.

who ever said Lewis was fighting Sanders in 95?... not me.. i said Sanders was being lined up as a future opponent. Sanders himself was chasing a shot at Lewis because he fancied his chances.. why dont you spoil yourself and for the cost of a couple of £ i am sure you will be able to buy yourself the official Lewis vs McCall program off Ebay. That way you will be able to read all about Lewis and Sanders..

me 45-50yrs old... lol i wish

The problem with lying about everything is that it always comes back to bite you in the ass.

Shot yourself in the foot with that one didn't ya mate?

Well, I guess we've solved that riddle. So you're lying about not only the fight itself, but having the program with you, and basically everything else in this thread.

            Nighty night Sonnyboyx2.

            What a chump.

the difference is i was around in the 70s, 80s, 90s 00s i can recall everything which happened in the sport. unlike you who was not born, so you have to rely on the internet for your information. The trouble is the internet has the very very minimal of information on Boxing. With a vast majority of its info also being incorrect (Boxrec)... Your a fanboy of Lennox Lewis and believe him to be an all time great ... i laugh at people like you because that tells me you know nothing about the sport.. Just like Ricky Hatton fanboys, they are the same. Ricky Hatton & his team watched Lennox Lewis career like hawks and realised that it is possible to make a huge amount of money by avoiding all the top fighters.

What is it that makes you feel Lewis vs Sanders was not being mooted for 1995???

Why was South African Sanders fighting on the Lewis vs McCall Bill ??

Let's take a look at Lennox Lewis record/fights between 1993-96 and see if Corrie Sanders 24-1 was being lined-up as a possible opponent..

                    1993 Lewis vs Bruno 36-3-0
                    1994 Lewis vs Jackson 30-1
                    1994 Lewis vs McCall 24-5
                    1995 Lewis vs Butler 22-10-1
                    1995 Lewis vs Fortune 11-2-1
                    1995 Lewis vs Morrison 45-2-1

Above is a real "Murders Row" of opponents.. Holyfield, Bowe, Foreman, Moorer, Tyson all held versions of the title during that time period. But all were terrified of fighting Lewis. If i am not mistaken, i think Lewis got poleaxed in less than 2rds by McCall who lost his title to Frank Bruno LOL ..... Yep Lennox the Great who went on to become "The only Heavyweight Champion in History to be Stripped of every version of the title. For refusing to fight the No1 contenders.

He was being pushed in the direction of Michael Moorer, not Lennox Lewis.

Moorer lost the title and Sanders ventured back into obscurity where he came from.
