    pacquiao, lomachenko.
i noticed morales also moved laterally a lot against barrera 1. havent paid too much attention to the other fights yet

By lateral movement coming forward I assume you mean guys with great head movement cutting the ring off etc? If so I can't name a better example then mike Tyson. Other guys that were great - roberto duran, julio ceasar Chavez, Henry Armstrong, joe frazier et al

Orlando Canizales and Jose Napoles are top tier here.

Hopkins. In his prime he seemed to cut if the ring well more of a catch and pitch kinda guy but his head movement showed more when he was punching he always put his body in a way to get the most on his shot and take the least from there while still being aggressive.

In terms of pure lateral head movement the best I ever saw in the heavyweight division was Larry holmes. Ali and Jones were multi dimensional movers, going back and fourth, side to side but larry was a reductionist. He used to make guys miss with their jab constantly with simple head and shoulder shakes.

Early Floyd was another...... Instead of setting in position Floyd would often just move off an inch...they slow motioned one time where he had the time to grin before moving his head off line and catching the guy....

Pacquio had a few tremendous lateral slips he hit floyd with twice in their fight.

For what it is worth....from a martial arts perspective if you do this you move towards his outside...Seldom is there a fighter good enough to move laterally in the opposite direction towards where he is right in front of the guy...Ali did this occasionally.

              Roy jones.....

And all the others previously mentioned... **** tiger, napoles, etc....

Right now, Golovkin is good yet subtle moves laterally... He sets up a lot of punches by moving a step or so to the left or right,,,,all while coming forward

Canizales is probably the best I've seen I think.

Yeah, Gonzalez really reminds me of Canizales in his offence. Gonzalez not quite as fast, but more powerful. Very similar offensive arsenal and skill though.

Apparently lateral and offensive need defined.
