Yeah the machen knockout is just revolting..the guy is literally out, crouched down against the ropes, somehow stands up, gets beat down again.. Dude is clearly out cold...
Also if you watch the 2nd kd, back of machen' head crashes into the canvas.. Reminding me of when johnson ko'd roy jones, and Roy's head bouncing off the canvas..
I like knockouts but it's hard for me to watch senseless beatings like these

The Griffith fight was horrible as well....

It makes me wonder if it was a coincidence that Machen later suffered from severe manic depression and eventually committed suicide.

It could be related but mental illness without treatment can be fatal

It was an unnecessary fight for Machen to take as he already was the #1 contender to Floyd. During the few minutes the fight lasted, Ingo said he immediately felt Machen was more powerful than any boxers he had shared ring with before, so Machen could have meant trouble to Floyd.

The Johansson-Machen fight took place in an outdoor arena. It was a very chilly evening, and Machen stepping into the ring first had to wait a long time before Ingo entering. Not the best conditions for Eddie ...

What I've read and learned, it was the 2 min 16 sec in Gothenburg that turned Eddie's life to the worse. He reportedly never was the same again, neither as a fighter nor as a human being.

Ali v Holmes has to be up there. One of the saddest things I've seen in boxing. Should have been stopped in the 5th or 6th when it was clear ali had zero offensive ability left.
