Betcha it has something to do with the class with the most average weight...more people means more fighters and more excellent fighters and eventually more great fighters...

In Thailand people often are Thai boxing fans....But the fans couldn't tell you who the heavyweight champ Is cause it isn't important...There simply are not many heavyweights. The lower classes are more popular but the middle weight divisions are what is considered the champs because these divisions are so popular. A middle weight champ fights the best competition in South East Asia because most Thai are this weight and...consequently most Thai fighters are this weight. See where I am going with this?
