MIKE TYSON: People say it was a perfect storm of all these things that caused me to lose. I don***8217;t know. I just know he kicked my ass that night.

I like how Tyson doesn't try to look for excuses now he is retired, he has no bitterness and accepts what happens. Some fights just can't do this, Lennox Lewis comes to mind he can't let go of that arrogance.

Great article. So Douglas got over a million for the Tyson fight. How much did he get for the Holyfield fight?

It was around 20 million. But after everyone got paid (including King and the IRS) it was considerably less.

Well considerably less than 20 million is still a lot of money. Unless he made poor choices he should be comfortable for a long time. But I'm strictly speculating here.

If I'm not mistaken Douglass now has a succesful comdom selling business. He had a little tv special a couple of years ago which was about the 20th aniversary of his fight against Tyson. He was atleast smart enough to invest some of his money, and he was likely not nearly as dumb as Howard Stern tried to make him look on his show(not that Howard didn't have a point about how much Douglass was taken advantage of by taxes, manager fees etc.)

Sorry couldn't resist. Yes he did well. had some problems with diabetes but from what I hear he got his weight under control.
