by challenges I do not nessarly mean wins but great fighters in each of those decades. Although some winning is required to move on to the next fight as great challenge.

For me it's Sugar Ray Leonard who I think was the most successful at it. Also Duran (80's)

    90's. Holyfield, Whitaker, Chavez.

2000 and up, Pacquiao, Mayweather, Barrera, Froch, Ward.

I'm sure I've left some out who deserve to be on the list.

          Juan Laporte fought:

          Salvador Sanchez
          Rocky Lockridge
          Eusebio Pedroza
          Wilfredo Gomez
          Barry McGuigan
          Julio Cesar Chavez
          John John Molina
          Azumah Nelson
          Kostya Tszyu
          Charles Murray

Only defeated Lockridge though but none of these fighters managed to stop him.

In the 80's I gotta go with Ray Leonard.

90's I gotta go with Whitaker.

2000's I gotta go with Hoya or Paquiao either one.

Can't believe Duran hasn't been mentioned more often, guy went out of his way to get in the ring with the greats of the time in divisions where he was heavily undersized.
