hell no! he cheated his way thru boxing, and all he was, was a punching bag. I dont remember him having a great punch, just taking alot of shots and keep coming forward. When he had to fight without his plaster, SSM embarrassed his ass and stopped him.

Of course this could be corrupted as well. "If Gatti is in then so to should McClellan" or Duk Koo Kim (sp)

Both of whom, now that I think of it, could be remembered there as well. They got stopped in the prime of their life.

        Anyway, just an idea.
Not a bad idea....These decisions do indeed create a perpetual slippery slope...thats one of the unintended cosequences.

              no way

You can't put the scandal to the side. I think wearing loaded gloves is about the worst cheat a boxer can resort to. Worse than steroids. Loaded gloves can permanently injure or kill someone. The fact that he got caught taints his entire career. He should never be allowed into the Hall of Fame.

Without the plaster his resume isnt string enough for the HOF

In any case, even if you give him full credit for the Cotto win, and throwing the plaster scandal aside - Margarito never achieved enough as far as wins to be considered HOF. Not even close in my opinion.

MargaCheato should not get in the hall of fame more like the hall of shame.

Well the points posters have made about fighters getting in because of their popularity are valid. One of my '70s favorites to be sure.

But I personally wouldn't see Margarito getting in and that's OK by me.
