Vladimir has made a very good resume and continues to do so defeating young undefeated fighters.

Vitali was always in the background in comparison, and the Lewis fight made the conclusive difference in this regard. I always believed Vitali wanted Vladimir to be the undisputed champion, which he is finally en route to if he doesn't slip this late. I don't think he will.

Vitali is still a three time champion, all considered. He could be fighting still, but he lets Vladimir finish the Klitschko legacy. He is just a great brother, actually.

povetkin, haye, byrd, peter are more than anything vitali has done

Throw in undefeated brock, mccline, sultan, chagev, pulev, thompson, etc, and its a landslide for wlad
      Vitali fought peter and byrd

Battered him, knocked him down multiple times.

Haye, Pulev, Povetkin, Chagaev, Byrd, Chambers, Ibragimov, Brock all off the top of my head.

Now who did Vitali beat? One of his best wins is Herbie Hide.
He beat sanders who is better than Pulev and brock. He was competative against lewis. Comp doesn't have to mean only wins...if the guy is competative at the level with the comp

He was a tough man but a loose cannon.
More like a loose 38 in a division of cannons!

What the part time Golfer Corrie Saunders? Decent fighter at best.

His only good win is catching Wlad cold.

Corrie Sanders would probably have knocked out Larry Holmes, since he was more expolsive than Gerry Cooney.

He was like a 7-1 underdog against Wlad, and was mostly known for being Lewis' sparring partner and a nice fella. Now they are trying to make out Sanders as if he was some kind of beast.

I think he had potential to be much better than he was had he trained hard and been more commited. he had good hand speed and power. good counter puncher too but he left himself open for counters and had crappy stamina

As someone else said, he was decent. Nothing more nothing less.
He wasn't a top contender at any stage in his career, say for the fluke win (for all intents and purposes) against Wlad.

I just don't like to rewrite history, and I followed this guy as his career progressed and he really wasn't seen as a big threat.
