The K fans sure love to beat on Lewis. Yet none of it will ever alter the records.

As for criticism of his "heart" - I find it revealing they never credit an obviously semi-retired and past-prime Lewis' flat-out refusal to submit in the face of the most ferocious onslaught delivered by their own man, Vitali.

If Lewis had no heart - why keep getting up from his stool despite being three or four rounds down to a young, ambitious and equally enormous Klitschko?

Forget the cut - if Vitali was so physically drained (despite being at his physical peak) by round four he couldn't stop his hopelessly out-of-shape opponent fifteen years his senior from wrestling away the initiative - why shouldn't we wonder whether he wasn't even more tired?

If we accept Vitali is what his fans claim - surely this makes Lewis' victory after REFUSING to quit or go down all the greater?

Aside from sharing size and power - I can't see any similarities at amateur level.

For a huge guy Lewis had astonishingly fluid foot movement. If Joshua moves his any less he might sprout roots.

I'm not saying he fights like Lewis, but Bruno was very upright and had some wild swings sometimes. I feel Joshua is more measured and has more tools in his arsenal than Bruno had early in his career. I would also say Joshua has better feet than Bruno.

I don't know why some people, including you it seems, try to pass Joshua off as flat footed, when he's clearly not.

Also, I'm talking their pro careers. I don't feel Lewis was particularly better than Joshua is at the same stage. I know that will rub some people the wrong way, but that's just how I feel. Lewis didn't really know what his style was before his late 20s. he, for some reason, fought like a counter puncher which he was never that good at. He also almost only used the right hand and his jab wasn't that good early in his career.

Those are just my views. But I would say Joshua looks more like early Lewis than early Bruno, although I think he doesn't really fight like either of them.

Joshua has the basic ABCs in place. He throws most punches in the book quite well and he can be aggressive and he can also stand back and win rounds I feel.

Lennox had the heart to get back in the ring with both guys who KO'd him.

What happened was he got blinded by his Klitschko brothers worship and by splooge from all that time spent kneeling in front of them.

but what is it based on? he was a bit flat in his amateur days admittedly, that was one of the first things I said he had to improve on when he turned pro. And in my opinion he has. He doesn't have the fluid movement of a young Lennox, but his balance has gotten way better and his feet are more swift.

I rate Joshua more now than I did after the Olympics, I felt he looked like a robot with power. He's improving with each fight and is becoming more fluid, he throws his combinations a lot better now, but he still doesn't move his head enough, and if comes up against a guy with a good jab I think he'll struggle.

Anyway, re Lewis and Wlad, I'd back Lewis simply because he could do more behind the jab, and although I'd probably say Wlad's jab is better as a single shot, Lewis's was more dangerous because it was more versitile.

Yeah I like him too. I won't be convinced though until I see either of them tested though. The future doesn't look too bad for the HW division, although there's nobody whom looks to have ATG potential there's at least some potentially exciting HW fights within the next few years.
