Right through the amateurs and for a good deal of his pro career Kostya Tszyu was extremely accurate.
As is often the case - age took a hefty bite out of Tszyu's fitness, agility and most importantly - rhythm.
Like all naturally gifted boxers - Kostya's power was a function of timing. And timing is a product of rhythm.
Fortunately he was adaptable enough to offset the timing shortfall with raw strength training and so he retained a KO threat to the end. But for most of his career Tszyu peppered his opponents with a craftsmen's fluency and deadly precision. He certainly didn't need blunt force trauma to win by stoppage.
