And some people are using high school debating tactics on this forum. Yeah the guy he was facing is a dirty fighter too and that somehow makes Holyfield less dirty? Was Golota not a cheating POS against Bowe just because Bowe had a history of fouls himself? Two wrongs don't make a right, Evander was damn near sadistic when it came to his tactics(he would stare at the wounds he created with his head and make it worse according to opponents). I've seen his entire career several times and he's still one of my favorites but you cannot overlook the headbutts, low blows, elbows. And you want to complain about him getting bitten, Guess what? Evander did that first in the amateurs. Google the story about the guy he bit in the ams out of frustration.
No, we're just saying Holyfield isn't the dirtiest fighter ever, as has been asked here. And yes, two wrongs don't make a right, which also means Tyson shouldn't have bit both of Holyfield's ears either. Neither that or any of Holyfield's dirty tactics are right. I'm sure boxers in the old days, when there was more grappling, got away with a lot worse.

what about Wlad? He professionally fouled his way through the entire fight against Povetkin.

I still have never seen Holyfield intentionally headbutting Tyson. They clashed head a few times, but Tyson used that as an excuse to justify his own cowardice and barbaric tactics.

Its funny how tyson in his book talks about feeling all the great legends from the past were looking down on him early in his career, yet in reality, he couldnt handle a bit of rough housing by Holyfield. He didnt like being on the receiving end of fouls, even though he elbowed repeatedly against easy opposition without any need to.

I dont think Holyfield was that dirty.

Nobody said Tyson's bites were right either so this post is kind of pointless. And every time Holyfield's dirty moves are brought up people want to talk about what Tyson did. It's deflection is what it is.

This can be said about every fighter that was ever accused of being dirty. "I'm sure it wasn't intentional". That's not going to hold up in a near 3-decade career where this was consistently an issue.

You didn't say the bites were right, just implied it.

I did no such thing. I mentioned that Evander had actually done something like that too in the past, so Evander's side complaining about the bites so much is just ironic, and if it is used a way to condone the headbutts it's redicilous.
