Not sure since ggg really hasn't fought the best yet...

I think ggg is a more complete offensive fighter than Mugabi, but not sure if he hits harder..

I agree. Mugabi proved that his power could cause problems even for elite opponents like Marvin Hagler.

Golovkin as of yet hasn't proven that.

So the moment you knew Mugabi was a big puncher was when he failed to knock Hagler out? Not when he stopped his first 25 opponents? I'm sure you were thinking "I just don't know how hard he punches, if only he could punch a solid chin so I could know"

Yeah we don't all go into the Valero effect and think knocking out mostly bums make you a proven puncher Or one of the hardest punchers of all time for that matter.

Well your reasoning is all wrong.

Do you agree that the one objective and scientific method to determine punchng power would be to measure the force of a punch?

              Yeah.

How often do these fighters measure the force of their punch?

We get it, Valero is one of the hardest punchers ever to you Broner not too far behind.

Most others wait to see how their power translates against higher calibur opponents.

I don't consider Wilder to be one of the hardest punchers of all time because he's knocked out 31 out of 31 fighters who are almost all bums. I'd rather wait to see how his power fairs at a higher level first. But that's me.

But the fighter's power is the same when he is fighting a bum as when he is fighting an elite opponent. If he fails to knock out the elite opponent it is not likely because his power was not impressive but that his skill level was not impressive. Think about all the fighters you think had great power, surely most of them were knocking out bums and journeymen very quick in the early stages of their career?

Did Mugabi even pass your narrow test for punching power?

Did you have any reason behing the question you asked me or were you just curious to my answer?

                  To the bolded; Obviously.

Where have I said that knocking out bums means you don't have power? Everyone fights and (And if you can punch hard) knocks out bums early in their career. I just don't consider you a proven puncher historically if by knocking out bums.

You think Adrien Broner is one of the hardest punchers ever at 130 lbs Because he's knocked out a load of poor unranked fighters and has a high KO ratio. Despite the fact he couldn't even hurt Daniel Ponce De Leon at any point of their fight despite landing clean solid hard punches on him.

As for Mugabi, I always thought his power was pretty overrated really. He rocked Hagler so obviously he could punch pretty hard but I don't think he's that hard a puncher in comparison.

So if I had a measured punch that is harder than the measured punch of a bona fide hard hitter, lets say Julian Jackson, and I knocked out my first 20 opponents inside a couple of rounds and then fought 5 more opponents and was knocked out by all of them quickly then I could not be considered to be one of the hardest punchers in history because I never stopped anyone that was considered to have a solid chin?

Maybe Broner didn't land right against De Leon? Knocking someone out is not just a case of the force of the punch but also the skill to land it correctly. Bums get knocked out not primarily because they have poor chins but because they have poor defences and poor capacity to anticipate punches and therefore get caught flush, get caught with punches that rotate their heads often resulting in concussions. I never said Broner was definitely one of the hardest punchers ever at 130, only that there was strong evidence that he was a big puncher at that weight.

I'd love to know who you actually think were big punchers.
