Laciar had a good list of victims pre-1984, but his best run against quality opposition was from 1984 and forward, especially 84-87. A fine list of scalps with Zapata and Roman, his two best wins, and a second win over underrated Juan Herrera being the best ones.

When it then is wrapped up with victories over solid fighters as Cardona and Montero, you end up with a very respectable streak, and the best in his career.

I am not talking crap, Adam, and trust me - Laciar belongs in the list.
I know your not talking crap, your a human encyclopedia of fighters from the smaller weights and worldwide in any era it seems.. I deeply value your thoughts. When I have time I will update the list and add him..

My only point is that their resumes are very close, and Barrera beat morales 2 out of 3. I just think you have to factor in the 2 h2h wins for Barrera.. Both guys were at identical spots in their career for all 3. I don't see how you can't factor in Barrera beating morales twice, and then proclaim morales better.

      Side notes-
Morales-Diaz was very close.. I did feel that morales did enough to win. I think I had it even with the kd giving morales a 114-113 win.. But sitting ringside, I was a tough fight to score sometimes because there was a lot of close action against the ropes.. I remember morales starting fast and getting a kd, but after 4 rounds Eric would just get backed into the ropes and let Diaz get off on him... It was very close the entire 2nd half but morales wasn't being an effective ring general and kept allowing Diaz to dictate the fight.. So I do think there is a case for Diaz winning, and i don't think it was a robbery.. Grant it, I only saw it live and never have watched a replay but from ringside, those were my thoughts...

Great! I am very pleased to hear that, Adam.

And while you’re at it you should sneak Chang, Roman, Moon, Fenech and Sahaprom into the list. :hey:

By the way, when will you post an updated version of the list?

              **** off.

So Carbajal, Lopez and Chiquita should be on the list, but not Chang? What kind of logic is that?

Because Morales has more depth. Simple really.

It's just fifty guys, no ranking order

Oh man, the debate is heated up enough with just naming 50 guys, let alone ranking them.. I'm already getting double team by irondan and holywarrior. Lol
Once we get a solid set list, I will start a new thread on ranking them..

Fenech I have added or soon will.. I believe roman has gotten discussed earlier but not sure, I will have to go back and read..
Make a case for Chang, moon, sahaprom,,, and tell which 3 guys you would drop.

Morales might have alittle more depth, but it's still really close

                    Great wins
                    Morales has 2 manny, Barrera
Barrera has 3 prince, morales, morales

I do agree though that morales has some more depth, I think the wins over junior jones, Chavez, famoso separate him abit from Barrera
Saying that, I still think Barrera is still a better fighter and proved it h2h..

                    • Finally agree with Adam, Barrera was better, resumes are close but Barrera had a better all round game and knew how to fight going back. Morales struggled when he was pressured, which was rare tbh lol
