  • Forgotten Fights in History, that nobody talks about

    Forgotten fights,,,

Duran/SRL 3,,, no one ever talks about this,, yes it was a pretty meaningless and boring fight, but people only ever talk about the first 2, and many dont even realize they fought a third time

    another would be foreman-frazier 2,,,,,

    Any others my history buffs

It's a bit sad that people now look upon Leonard/Duran 3 as boring but in reality it was a boxing clinic by Leonard. This was a past prime Leonard, slower and more lethargic than ever before but he turned it up one last time, people also tend to forget that some tend months earlier, Duran had just won the WBC middleweight title from the tough as nails Barkley.

Frazier/Foreman 2 is rightfully forgettable because we all knew what would happen, we just didn't expect it to take as long as it did.

A truly forgotten gem, amongst the more casual crowd anyway, is Moore v Durelle, it is truly one of the great light heavyweight bouts, knockdowns, brutality, big punches and a KO, what more could we ask for?

Surely the forgotton fight is Moore-Durelle II?

I often forget Leonard-Duran III happened too.

Nobody ever talks about Ali-Frazier II but then why would you when it was sandwiched between 'The Fight of the Century' and the 'Thrilla in Manila'?

same goes with micheal spinks,, its only about the holmes and tyson fights,, but everyone forgets his great run at 175

Moore v Durelle 1 is probably well known, but again, it is well known in the boxing community but hardly known outside of it. Plus, I just don't think the sequel was as good as the original.

Ali v Frazier 2 was a damp squib, I remember watching it and wondering what was happening, there was none of the ferocity and intensity of the original or the third fight...so it is rightfully forgotten.

I'd like to add Arguello v Castillo where the great Alexis had to come back from behind to win by KO. Classic example of a champion unwilling to lose.

I rarely hear mention of wars like Kevin Kelly-Derrick Gainer I and Kelly-Dorsey. Both very entertaining wars.

Hopkins-Jones II has been (and should be) forgotten forever. What a horrible, horrible fight.

                    Forgotten Fights

Another forgotten fight is Muhammad Ali vs Archie Moore.
