  • What middleweight would you choose......

.......to survive 1 round with a 19 year old hungry proffesional mike tyson. I know it's a silly question but I'm having trouble thinking if there is one, is there one?

I watched nearly all of 19 year old Tyson's fights last week. Pretty much everything before Green and Ribalta. His opponents weren't the toughest opposition by any stretch, but there was no doubting Tyson's sheer speed of hand and foot, his power, pace and accuracy. He had the speed to worry any middleweight and enough power to cause permanent damage to a guy weighing up to 60Lbs less!

Hagler had a great chin, but I'm sure he wouldn't survive a round........not elusive enough, the gap in power and punishment would probably be too much. Tyson would have no fear of what was coming back and would simply walk him down. Any middleweight who could survive 3 mins with 'that' Tyson would have to be extremely elusive.

One guy I'd pay to watch try would be a prime Herol Graham. He might not have become a world champion, but at his very best....when he was in his zone you couldn't hit him with a handful of rice. He might have had a 3 minute chance of survival!

Middleweight Roy Jones jnr might be a giggle too!

thought people might say haggler but i would of thought out of all the great middleweights he would probably take the most hits, jones would run for 30 secs but get smashed, to get through the first round toney might be an option just coz he'd stop Tyson's momentum and his small slippery head might dodge the worst of it but no doubt he would get caught so I don't think there is 1, lol how would Hopkins do?

To survive one round with a young Mike... I'll take a prime 160 lb James Toney. Defensive wiz.

Just what I was thinking when I read the question:

                    Hagler
                    Toney
                    Jones

How about Robinson? He was still pretty tough and elusive at middleweight.
