Liston in the 70s?

Liston against Foreman is the master against the apprentice being how integral Liston was to developing Foreman's skill set as a young fighter. I can't call this one.
I think Liston would present to Frazier much as Foreman did. Same style and approach.
Other posters have accurately stated the different versions of Ali and Liston calculus....cosign on that!

They only really did damage to his reputation amongst casual boxing fans I think - because that's how they know him.
All time dream fight: prime liston vs prime frazier. Now that would be a fight.
As far as the question, I'm not so sure that he'd have success against Ali, Holmes, Norton and Foreman. His best shot at winning a big fight would Frazier and that wouldn't be easy at all.

I doubt post Manila Ali could beat a prime Liston to be honest. Ali 71-74 might get away from him, after that I don't know.
Would be some cracking fights vs Foreman, Frazier and Shavers. He smokes Norton easily I think, but the rest would be amazing.
Liston-Foreman would be great. He's the only person to back him up (in sparring) and I think he'd win a decision.

Did you know the Klitschkos went on the Vatican stage to say hello to their buddy the Pope and people were asking who the funny looking old guy next to Vitali was?
