I still think frazier circa 69-71 would beat liston on a decision IMO

anytime after that and liston would beat him

yea,,,I pretty much agree. that's a tough one to call. I think liston took a better punch but frazier had tons of heart. a young frazier may have taken liston's will by the later rounds with his tenacity and either stop him or make him quit but I could almost just as well see liston take frazier out by the mid rounds. would have been a nice clash in styles

Liston had a murderous jab. But, he wasn't the best at doubling or tripling it, which some vids confirm. So Smokin' Joe might have wore him down.

That's why I first thought this photo was a fake. Apparently, it isn't.
(Though, I'm still not convinced )

Liston is a great HW. He only ruled the roost shortly cos a freak called Ali was about. Sans Ali, he'd have been champion for a long time.

Yep, the 1960s had belonged to him.

He was a mean, strong mofo with great tools. I know Bert Sugar rated him highly.

After seeing that photo I have to say that Liston probably beats Foreman. For sure he was a better boxer than George but if he was also as big and strong then all the advantages are in his favor.

                      Heart?

Liston could be discourgaed by early set backs. Remarkably similar to Tyson in this way. Foreman was a lionhearted fighter. Hell, even in 1991 v Holyfield he never backed down.

Liston is a AT Top 10 HW for sure in my eyes.
