It's for The Ring title but not the Lineage.

Canelo and Floyd are #1 and #2 on most rankings to be fair at Jr MW but should they be? I'm not sure.

I don't really like opening vacant Lineage's, there's almost always a dispute on who the #1 and #2 guys are.

As far as I'm concerned this is for all the titles at 154!!! I believe both fighters have all the federations belts between them! Ray

Politics will stop this from ever happening. But Lara should be ahead of both for me. He has the better resume. P.will, C.Molina, V.Martirosyan. A.Angulo is better than K.Cintron,A.Trout,S.Mosley.J.Lopes(All out of their weight bar Trout) or Cotto and De La Hoya(out of their best weight)

Yeah so that would make it lineal as far as The Ring is concerned and if the winner holds the belt long enough, it could make him lineal and start a new lineage, like what happened with the heavyweight title.

The Ring does not crown lineal champions, only who has the Ring belt. Which are two completely different things. The Ring will often crown the winner of a match between #1 and #2 fighters in a division. Often I hear in here that that is how lineal works as well, if it is, it is something new and only recognized here on Boxingscene.

You mean I just can't make my favorite fighters linear champions?

So... unless I am forgetting someone in the lower weight classes. Sergio is the only lineal champ we have today? Maybe Floyd at 47?

If the requirement is beating a lineal champ or unifying WBC/IBF/WBA?WBO I do not see anyone else.

Yes true, but The Ring has it's own lineage, which, at times can be different from the lineal champions of Boxing Scene or Cyber Boxing Zone, but they keep their own records of lineal champions. For a while, they didn't award title belts and then started up again, which is one reason their lineages are different. The other being just a difference in some who they've classified as champions.

So The Ring may not crown lineal champions but often the champion with the title belt from The Ring is also the lineal champ. And isn't the holder of the Ring belt often considered the true champion in that weight class?
