  • where would you rank May in the ATG list...

...If he beats out his 5 remaining opponents and retires undefeated...

    Canelo.
    Bradley.
    Mathysse.
    Khan.
    Pacquiao.

Imho, somewhere in the Top 21-30.Have to remember he has avoided many fights during his carrer, like Margs,Prime Manny or the Punisher.

He didn't avoid "Many" fights in his career.

But to answer the question, he'd likely be Top 20-25 if he won all of those fights.

I'd go a bit higher, personally.

Can't see him being higher than Top 20.

Solely because of the stacked competition for those spots.

It's hard to say really off the top of my head.

He's already earned whatever merits he's going to get. The Canelo fight should be close to a white-wash. He knows the kid's mechanical and should be easily outboxed. (though, one can hope Saul catches him flush with one of those hooks. )

Mayweather, p4p wise deserves to be noted in the top 10 somewhere; but his avoidance of the best competition (Pacquiao) counts hugely against him in my book.

I'd probably rate him in the Top 10 Lightweights. p4p I'll have to examine.

              Thoughts:

              P4P Noteworthies.....no particular order:

              Ray Robinson
              Henry Armstrong
              Sam Langford
              Harry Greb
              Carlos Ortiz
              Ezzard Charles
              Roberto Duran
              Julio Caesar Chavez
              Ray Leonard
              Pernell Whittaker

              aaaannnnddddd.......

              Roy Jones Jr
              Evander Holyfield
Bob Fitzsimmons.....first man to win Middleweight, Heavyweight, and Light Heavyweight honors
              Sandy Saddler
              Willie Pep
Archie Moore....dominated middleweight and light-heavyweight division for years before receiving a title shot

....and that's just to name a few that popped in my mind who the argument can be made for Top 10 p4p greatness.

Who leaves to bump Pretty Boy up to the Top Ten??

He's top 15 as it stands right now for me. I take into account Resume, Talent, if whoever I have ranked higher than him could actually beat him, and what he meant to the sport. There aren't many guy's I see beating Floyd. But I would love to see his career end like this; He beats Canelo. IF Matthyse beats Garcia, and then moves up to 147 to beat the Broner/Maidana winner. That puts him in line for a Floyd fight. Pacquiao beats Rios, then goes to be beat the Bradley/Marquez winner. The Floyd is right back on the table. IF Khan beats Alexander, he goes on to fight the winner of the Guerrero/Thurman bout. He'll get the Floyd fight then. And if Sergio moves down to 154 and takes out Ishe Smith for his strap or beats Lara, either win warrants a Floyd Fight. We can all dream can't we? lol

So 20-30 now, possibly top 25 before he retires? I don't seem him fighting Pacquiao though and even if he does, does the fight really mean as much anymore as it would've in 2010?
