  • Robberies that were not

    what are the fights most often considered Robberies that you consider squarely judged fights?

    The second Leonard-Hearns fight. I had Hearns winning by a small margin but a draw was fair.

      I guess De La Hoya-Trinidad. While I thought Oscar won, I didn't think it was as by as wide a margin as he claimed.

        I've always had Ali shading the third Norton fight by a round......

          Also i didnt think lara-williams, was a robbery,,, but i know im the only one ti think that...

          I also thought hatton won vs collazo,,, he got beat up down the stretch but had a kd early and i thought won 114-113

            Recent history;

            Trinidad-De La Hoya

            Benn-Eubank 2

            Tarver-Jones 1 (people seem to have cooled down now but at the time people screamed robbery)

            If we're talking further back if have to think abit.

            Ramirez-Arguello many considered a somewhat robbery. I thought it was close, had Ramierz edging it.

              when I asked the question I was thinking leonard -herns 2 and tarver -jones 1 and dela hoya -trinidad conversely heres one I always thought was a robbery that I have never heard talked about JCC VS Juan Laporte

                Very good answers in this thread, IMO. I'm going to add an obscure one. My favorite fighter all-time is Thomas Hearns, and for the longest time I kept hearing that he had really lost the fight against James Kinchen in 1988 (though the decision went Hearns's way). Finally someone uploaded that fight on YT and I was able to watch and score it round by round. My final tally: 116-112, Hearns. No robbery, IMO.

                  I had the same score for Hatton/Collazo. But I thought Williams-Lara was a disgraceful robbery.

                    That fight bored me to tears but hearns won it seemed like a case of a guy doing better well way better then expected.
