Well I was just a teenager then, and Frazier was my favorite fighter. So like most of the media, I underestimated Foreman. I saw that fight closed circuit at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium and the crowd there was stunned. Ali and Frazier had dominated the division for awhile, and suddenly George came crashing through the door.

I'll take any decent heavyweight these days, so bring Wilder on. Maybe if he's lucky he'll get Fury if Tyson loses to Haye. But with this landscape it's tricky to say.

I thought it was a glancing blow that he used to set up the right hand but maybe I've only seen it once too

His jab seemed kinda slow and he seems uncoordinated but when he knocked out Harrison the combo he was throwing to get him outta there when the ref went to stop it was pretty fast so maybe your right. I guess I'm trying to say he doesn't have alot of snap just blunt thudding speed

Wilder has great power, that's about all we can say about him ATM. Good fights for him would be Adamek, Guinn, Magomed, or the winner of Mitchell-Arreola. Hell ,even if Eddie Chambers came back up to HW that would be a good fight for Wilder.

I would love that. I was actually calling for that match up before (Wilder-Fury). My pick would be Wilder FTW.

Bit early to tell his full potential, but i'd say he's the best of the unbeaten super-sized prospects i've seen so far.. Fury and Helenius come to mind, but neither appear to have quite the natural athleticism Wilder has.

Plus with Fury, you kind of hope someone knocks him off at some point, like I was hoping with Hamed. Haven't seen Wilder yet. Has he been shown on HBO or Friday Night Fights?

Fury is just what the division is crying out for.. A great big comical giant, who truly believes in himself.. Wilder to fight the winner of Haye Fury would be ideal.

But what happens when it isn't having the desired effect on a veteran opponent? I like that he is in physical shape, too many flabby Heavys who cant put the pies down out there today. No idea about his heart or stamina as of yet. He does have those long skinny legs that make a fighter appear fragile, Iv'e never seen his chin tested but i have my su****ions there...
U have to worry about how soft he's been matched though, his team seem to lack the confidence in him imo. The way a fighter is matched speaks louder than any promotional hype and talk when it comes to what they REALLY believe

Need to see him tested really. But so far he's done exactly what he's supposed to with whats been put in front of him and in double quick time.
That's about the crux of the issue right there.

He needs to be in with a heavyweight who can control the distance, time his shots well and take a shot before we can make an accurate assessment.

Unfortunatley, preparation and progression seem to be taking a back seat to outright risk aversion. He is a commodity after all.

That said, I don't envy anyone trying to bring a fighter along in the heavyweight division.
