Actually a good list. Joe Louis had good speed in his early years too.

I think its a pretty good list BUT in fairness how much footage of the likes of corbett is there for you to be able to have him as the first name on your list? You're basically just going on hearsay having him down as the fastest. May as well say I think Achilles is faster than ali because some guys from before I was born told me so.

I did some research, added my own personal experience of fights seen during my time & in video, & lots of research, reading up on old articles for experts & other boxing info, so here is my top 10, in no particular order, but I go with Ali #1

1. Ali
2. Tyson
3. Louis
4. J. Johnson
5. J. Corbett
6. Patterson
7. Frazier
8. Holmes
9. Charles
10. Dempsey

& there are several others that are very close & could crack the top 10, but we won't ever know for sure, so if you do your research on it, anyone could come up with a decent top 10, guys left out but just quite didnt make it.

Again, the farther down the list you go, the more guys that pile up at the bottom & anyone could find another guy to fit in somewhere, that were so close, you could'nt pick between them.

I agree with that. Dokes and Page were very close in handspeed before they became fat.

Also, Tony Tubbs, had blistering hand speed, but was always too fat.

According to Ali, Patterson and Foley were the fastest he fought, and actually rated their speed as equal to his own.

Glad Dokes has been mentioned.. Thought he had it all, until the drugs got hold of him.
