If they fought with todays refs/rules then Dempsey would get thrown out by the ref after about 1 minute.

Haye is a good mover and quick on his feet, which would work in his favour. We know Dempsey can be beaten when in there with someone like that. That's not to say that's what would happen, just stating that it's a possibility.

Please watch this and tell me do you seriously think that Dempsey would have beat any of today's top10 HW, not to mention Haye.

This is not to take anything from Jack. He was a great champion, but I do expect that in 2100 boxing is much more advance than it is now...
It is nearly impossible to compare fighters who were nearly 100 years apart. While I would pick a number top heavyweights from the last 20 years to beat Dempsey H2H, I just don't have a very high opinion of David Haye. He has fought a sorry lot of heavyweights, and he appeared to fight scared in at least twice. I'm not doubting his physique and athleticism. I just don't think he is in the same class as Jack Dempsey if we adjusted Dempsey for this era.

I see Jack using the "shoulder roll" pretty modern day stuff hahahaha!!!!
Watching film from that era goives you a false assumption that the fellows move awkwardly and don't have vcoordination, its not true!

Why do all the "old time" fighter have to move up to these times!!!

Lets take this fellow Haye and bring him back to Jack!

Modern times don't equate to newer boxing techniques! Tell me what techniques are in place now that weren't back in the day?
Everyone was impressed with Ali's laterial movement but the generation before Ali saw Willie Pastrano (Dundee trained) then the next generation saw Robinson then back to Pep!!!!! Hell even Dempsey is using laterial movement against Willard!! Bigger, faster, stronger,............Dumber with less Heart!

Dempsey fights like a savage, and Haye isn't one to take risks. Likely Jack.

There's dumbasses on here that believe that that Jack Dempsey beats either Klitschko.

That is my point. It is impossible to compare two fighters that fought 100 years apart. Still if we are doing that here, that I thought is the question of the thread then I don't understand how can anyone pick Dempsey H2H over Haye.

Dempsey is light HW/CW by today's standards and even at that weight is far less athletic than someone like Haye who doesn't carry much of fat into the fight.

Adjusting Dempsey is very hypothetical question and I can't predict how well he would adopt. The way he fought back then wouldn't give him anything good against today's much stronger and bigger HWs. Would he be able to bulk up some 2-3 stones of muscles and still keep the edge I just don't know...

Ambush fighting was pretty much unknown back then. I can't think of any ambush fighter that fought before 60s-70s.

Haye is typical example of an ambush fighter.

It would be like Tyson-Spinks (with Dempsey playing the roll of Iron Mike). Of course Haye might actually believe he can take Dempsey in which case he would be punished before being knocked out.
