Sonny Liston was too patient. I guess people didn't see him fight Patterson . He slaughterer all the hard punchers that fought like Frazier . He would killed any heavyweight during his time except a mobile Ali , who had the style to beat Sonny .

disagree, I think Liston is a nightmare matchup for Frazier like Foreman was.
Frazier would get hit with too many big shots early trying to get inside.

I don't believe Sonny could beat the FOTC Frazier.

Frazier in the Foreman fight had a dull out of fighting shape look.
I still think That Foreman was Joe's worst nightmare.

The Frazier who fought Foster and Ali I could I believe beat both Liston and Tyson.

In summation, on his best day, Joe was a handful for any heavyweight who ever laced them up!

These types of personalities often can indicate the outcome in the Heavyweight class. I like Frazier personality over Liston!! Frazier has the Champions Attitude and theres times when it can carry you over obstacles in the way. Sonny would give away weight by a few pounds but would have some height over Joe and reach! If Sonny would come out throwing his best combos he would have a shot as Foreman did but that wasn't Sonnys style and when yaking about matches that never happened you need to consider the components at their best and Joe at his best isn't against Foreman!
I'll take Joes will to win over Sonnys skills, I do like Sonnys skills but his willingness was lacking!! Ray.

There is no doubt in my mind whether or not the Smokin' Joe that beat Ali would beat Tyson. When it comes down to mental toughness, Tyson didnt have it. Joe would push back even after getting KD. He would march straight into Tyson face hit him with a hook and tell him "I'm gonna be in your face all night long and you aint gon do nothin bout it". The fighters who could push back against Tyson found success (Holyfield, Douglas) and I believe Frazier could do that.
