I doubt he ducked Lyle or Shavers, but like Holyfield, we remember Ron and Earnie's best moments and not the times where they looked like an easy night for a guy like Joe Frazier.

Lyle-Foreman remains a classic. As for Earnie, I even remember him valiantly trying to take out Bernardo Mercado in a bloody brawl.
Check out Lyle vs shavers with Lyle getting up from a brutal knockdown and knocking out shavers.Lyle had big problems with boxers and counter punchers and excelled vs punchers.Lyle or Shavers would have been dangerous for Joe.Its hard to believe friends or not he missed some top boxers in his run.

This is why he was the only heavyweight champion never to knock down or out any opponent with his right hand.

Holyfield had the talent to keep turning Joe to his right and countering with his own hook and combinations. Unlike Mathis and Ali (fight 1) Holyfield had the endurance and durability to keep up this game plan for 15 rounds. Quarry’s issue was cuts which Holyfield had little problem with.

      Holyfield W15 over Frazier.
Right. When I first saw The Foreman v Frazier fights well after they happened it made me think Joe was overrated. That hurky jurky style looked awful and he went down seemingly by every punch George landed. He’d miss his hook by miles. Researching more of Joes fights I appreciated him much more. He was one hard determined SOB. But Holyfield losing on cuts? Ridiculous. Was Holy ever cut? Joe reminds me of Dwight Qawi with his style. Even Tyson a bit. He had plan A and if that didn’t work resort back to plan A. Holys hook was short and accurate. Maybe not as hard as Joes but I bet he’d land it first more often if they traded. Holy has an insane chin also. Joe could miss badly at times, Holy would make him pay. Joe was a proactive fighter, pushed forward and tried his offence over and over regardless of what the success was. Holy is more reactive and counters, he’d figure out what moves Joe would cycle through fairly quick. I’m backing you up with at least a Holy decision or even a stoppage. There’s no world where Holy ever loses on cuts or swelling. Joe comes to fight and that’s where Holy excels. The guys who pick Joe, I’d like to know what there Tyson v Holyfield predictions were? If someone picked Holyfield I’d consider ur analysis more than I would if they thought Tyson would smash him.

        - -Qawi almost killed Field the first fight.

Got kicked out of LH by Mike Spinks who put a textbook schoolboy whooping on him.

Son, when U eligible for boxing 101? 4o+ yr old George had Field hanging on for dear life and ruined him like he did Ali. We can all point to losses of our favs when they had degraded, but if Joe at his best can BTFO Ali at his best when Ali had the most motivation and fan base than he ever had before, u boy ain't got a chance!

Who did u pick in Tyson v Holyfield? Manny vs Floyd? Qawi almost killed him? Hanging on for dear life against George? Both fights he won, never got knocked down or even badly hurt in either fight. Your painting yourself into a corner with comments like that. If u say Qawi almost killed him, and was hanging on for dear life against George ud think he lost both fights, or got dropped, or hurt bad, not even close to the case. How do U describe a fight where a guy actually lost then? Or got stopped? Or dropped often? Seriously? Think about it. Maybe Joe wins. Who knows. But ur delusional about Holyfield. U probably picked Lewis to knock him out also. Probably bet on Tyson on the rematch also.

              - -U noob?

Field in critical condition after Qawi whooped him. Also the first fight with PED allegations against him.

Retired with a "Hard Heart," diagnosis before mysteriously cured by a notorious Christian soothsayer.

              Recorded history!

                NY Times:

Judge Harold Lederman (144-140) and Judge Neffie Quintana (147-138) scored it for Holyfield. The other judge, Gordon Volkman, in a verdict that was soundly booed. had it 143-141 for the 33-year-old Qawi.

Both fighters put out. After one man would unleash a flurry of damaging punches, the other would take his turn and let fly. But Holyfield's jab was stiff enough, and busy enough, to keep Qawi at bay more often than not. A computer count of the punches had Holyfield throwing 1,290 (629 of them registering effectively, according to the computer). Qawi's punch count, according to the computer, was 1,018 thrown with 562 landing effectively. There were no knockdowns. Qawi's mouth was bloodied in the 13th round, but Holyfield was unmarked afterward. Qawi did not appear at the news conference following the bout.

Still waiting for him to say who he picked in Holyfield v Tyson and Manny v Floyd. He won’t answer. Don’t worry I can’t take someone serious who describes a fighter as almost dying in two fights he won and was never knocked down, badly hurt, cut, or exhausted. Ridiculous. If he has kids, wife or a husband, he couldn’t explain it to them without them knowing he’s full of it.

%100. I’ve seen the fight at least four times and as recent as two weeks ago. Holy flattened him in the rematch also. This all started with the Holy v Frazier round by round posted. Entertaining writing, but in what universe does Holyfield ever lose on cuts? Has he ever been cut? Holyfield has one of the most durable faces in boxing history. George had Joe bouncing all over the floor. I bet he will say comeback George didn’t hit as hard at 250 then at 220. I like Frazier as a fighter and a man, but he quit on the stool, maybe for the best, but Holy was never even in that position and would never. Ali couldn’t damage Holy to that point even over 15 rounds.
