Robinson was a welter in their first fight, but LaMotta was never close to 147 in his entire career. If they had a super middle division back then he might have fought there.

Sugar Ray was a great fighter at ANY weight! He fought at middleweight for 15 years! He beat the best competition at that time at middleweight not as a welter or welters. When he's accepted as the greatest fighter of all times thats at middleweight and welterweight!

THEY did NOT fight as welters. Sugar was a few pounds over welter and as long as you sign to fight it makes no difference what you weigh as long as your Not OVER Weight! You weigh 126 and fight at middleweight!! Ray.

Sorry....it asked for two great fighters. Taylor was a tremendous fighter at the time he fought JCC, but never acheived greatness.

Oh, got it, Robinson was under, but it was a middleweight fight. Is it true only the last of their 6 fights is still available on film and now DVD?
