The word "great" makes this tricky. The previously mentioned Charles and Moore were undisputedly great. Both Morales and Barrera will make the HOF on the first ballot. Whether they were great when they fought each other the first time is for others to decide. The only thing that I'm sure of is that the fight was truly great. Marquez and Pacquiao also fit into this conversation.

Oscar De La Hoya vs Trinidad and Shane Mosley
Frazier vs Ali in the FOTC
          Nigel Benn vs Chris Eubank

I'm sure there are tons of others but those are off the top of my head.

The Frazier vs Ali fight is obviously the best of the ones I've listed and has great replay value. I watch it every couple of months.

Benn vs Eubank is one of my favorite fights. Nigel Benn is one of my favorite fighters of all time. I was very disappointed he couldn't pull off a victory.

If you consider McClellan a great fighter, then you may be able to make a case for Benn vs McClellan as being one of those fights, although some would say that Benn was removed from his prime at the time of the fight, similar to Ali vs Foreman, while both were great fighters, the past prime fighter won that fight as well.

Good picks but wasn't Robinson considered to be in his prime when he was at welterweight, before he moved up to middleweight? No doubt great fights though.

robinson also fought jake a number of times before he was welter champ and these were very good fights. Ray fighting Kid Gavilan who is probly very underated was also two fighters at there prime. Other examples that come to mind are leonard duran 1 and leonard hearns.

I was thinking about Jones-Hopkins (first fight). Was that two greats in their prime? Or was it two greats before their prime?

                  Ray Leonard Vs. Duran

Duran was past his prime weight, but he didn't look a touch faded on the night.

Ahh, did not know that, very interesting, so Robinson and LaMotta fought at welter as well.
