  • How do you rate Paul Williams?

Hall of Fame credentials, yes or no? He never won a true world championship, but held an alphabet belt for a year... wins over Martinez, Margarito, a shot Winky, and some other decent wins.

    Did he have ATG potential?

Obviously not an all time great but he will always be a well respected and remembered ... but with the people they put in the hall of fame these days I don't see why he shouldn't get the nod for that but he is far from an ATG

Not an all-time great, or even close. Certainly doesn't deserve HOF induction, but you never know.....

What he was, was a very good and unique fighter. That style of his made for an interesting run but is also why it wasn't a very long run.

Fighters whose careers have ended tragically often get a bigger push for the HOF. While I think his credentials leave Williams a bit short, many of the voters will want to see him accepting the award with the graciousness he always shows.

I don't rate best boxers, just my favorites and Williams was one of my favorites. So to answer the question, among recent boxers, I rank him pretty highly for activity and entertainment value and thanks to the awful judging in the Lara fight, was able to beat everyone he fought.

Swarming and volume punching is one of my favorite styles.

Nice guy good boxer not atg or HOF worthy but will get in based on career being cut short.

Realistically he really shouldn't get in, but I will not be displeased when he does.

Yeah iron chinned, except against Martinez. Man, that was brutal. One of my favorites as well. I gotta try and get a career set on him.
