I have to back off the Joe Louis contention of cocaine after the Schmeling loss. I was going on the word of a friend who read a lot of boxing books a long time ago. I should not do that, for I cannot locate any support for it on the internet, and the same friend once remembered that Tunney fought Harry Wills. Hmmm.

So unless some new evidence turns up, Louis appears to have started Coke in the 60's or 70's. My apologies.
