I did a search and there is a website that decribes the era he fought in and how other black americans of that period such as lloyd marshall and holman williams and charley fought each other instead of getting much deserved world title shots.

You're highly skilled if you can consecutively land rights like that. The first video is Mayweather, and the second one is Burley. Floyd did something similar to what Burley did in the links provided. I'd recommend watching the Burley video in its entirety if you haven't ever seen it before. It shows you WHY he's so skilled.

There is tons of Burley film out there. Go and watch it and try to come up with a reason why guys like Robinson or Lamotta would avoid him like the plague. Those guys were out of his league.

I was under the impression Burley's only fight on film was the Oakland Billy Smith fight. What other footage have you seen of him?

Also, this is a guy who beat top contenders from welterweight to heavyweight. If Robinson thought he would have murdered him he probably would have had such a big problem with the smaller purse.
