What is your opinion on the fighter pre 1940 that looks best on film, I would nominate Tunney. Gans as well looks excellent.

I think Benny Leonard looks pretty amazing. Tunney certainly ranks as well as Barney Ross.

      3 great examples.

Tony Canzoneri, Freddie Welsh, Joe Louis. Some more examples.

Tommy Loughran, Panama Al Brown, Freddie Steele all look pretty incredible.
Too many to say who definitively looked the best.

one of the more dominant fighters i've seen. he looked to be many weight classes apart from his opponents. moved with coordination and fluidity and had tons of speed and power.

          gene tunney
          joe louis
          willie pep

jack johnson looked pretty damn good, too. way ahead of his time with his defensive mannerisms.

Joe Louis is my top choice. I love what little I've seen of Joe Gans. You can tell he was special.

The panama al brown footage is really nice quality compared to other fighters.
