I had no problem with Duran-Barkley winning. I agree that Andres-Harding and Holyfield-Dokes and Zaragoza-Banke were great battles. Another forgotten battle from that year was Molina-Tony "The Tiger" Lopez.

If O.Canizales-Kelvin Seabrooks II or Paez-Grove II were as good as the first bouts they would have been up there too but they fell short that year.

Maybe the best "fight" was between Pistons /Lakers.
Or maybe the 49'ers win over the Bengals
Such a good year for sports

Yong Kang Kim vs.Leopard Tamakuma occurred in 1989. I reremember that it happened right before my 9th birthday. One of the best fights I'd ever seen at the time, and is still one of my favorites.

                Harding/Andries you fat Yanks!

In all seriousness, '89 was one hell of a year. Duran/Barkley for the amazing come back and drama of Duran winning the 160 title was amazing.

Holy/Dokes was a classic of Holyfield showing everything that made him great.

                Banke/Zaragoza was brilliant.

For me though, it has to go to Harding. What a champ.

My fat yank is dangling between my legs, but Harding-Andries was a great fight....both of them if I remember correctly.

All 3 of them were epic wars!

                    Kim/Tamakuma was great too.
