  • i am honestly perplexed at the p4p title being vacant

i dont understand the point of this, id rather have an arguable number 1 than no number 1 at all.

help me understand why this was a good move.

im posting this here because id like some historical context as to why this is a good thing, and i miss yall (no ****)

I like it. The situation with Mayweather and Pacquiao is sh**, it's fitting that they are both #2.

This should put some pressure on whoever was #1.

yo, i used to love the ring mag, but in the last 5 years its been really odd. and no i dont attribute it to golden boy, this has been going on for awhile. for me personally, if they were going to do this, why not do it when pac fought ****ing margarito of all people, then fought shane? then the rehauling of the championship policy, its straight bull****.

also, wmute we talked about this years ago, but floyd is getting older, getting hit and being forced to fight. his legs arent the same, we talked about this actually during the oscar fight and then the mosley fight. hes looking more and more to me like james toney (thats agood thing it means hes aging well) but the days of not getting touched are over.

in my eyes i'd say it's a marketing ploy

            the timing made no sense

bumping manny down shoudl have happened after the third marquez fight

bumping floyd up shouldnt happen after he looks as bad as he's ever looked.

ring magazine is owned by goldenboy promotions
            that cant be overstated

every time something from them is cited it should be brought up.

as bad as hes ever looked? if he blew cotto out it wouldnt have fared for him any better, a lesser fighter would have crumbled under the pressure cotto applied. i disagree.

he should not have fought cotto from the ropes. i dont believe he was there by choice

if he were able i'd confident he'd use his legs to stake out spots in the center of the ring where he could use his speed and length to pick cotto off coming in, then either tie him up or take a step to the side. eventually he'd probably hurt him.

aging fighters love those ropes. i think floyd looked to be showing his age. he took much more punches and punishment than i had expected.

i have been bash#t busy lately, and i've only seen the fight once.

i'll take another look and a third eventually, but i remember thinking about how off he looked and attributing it to his age

he's beginning to behave like an aging fighter. it's easy to forget just how fast his feet were in his prime

even with the size he's got now and how that might impact his speed versus when he was a lightweight, 35 year old legs arent going to behave like 25 year old ones.

The Ring always prided themselves in weightclasses with the adage that the two best fighters must face off for the number 1 spot or "Champion" status. I don't think it's ****** to apply this when the two best fighters can fight each other and haven't.

It goes to show how political the Ring is these days. I can't believe the writers actually spout off propaganda by not saying Marquez beat pacquiao. I remember back in the day the Ring openly went off on Chavez after the Whitaker fight
