JLC was a guy who would fight with Hatton, thats what he needs, hes an inside fighter like Hatton but a smaller guy, Hatton wins every time having the size advantage.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Nobody was picking Castillo after all of his wars with Corrales and now up at 140 because he cant make 135 anymore. Hatton was the strong favorite and that matchup was considered a joke. Castillos weight was ballooning, he had a lot of wars and Hatton was the bigger guy.

You can believe what you want. I was on NSB then and plenty of people were picking JLC and expecting a competitive fight. Same with the media. Hatton was just one junior division higher and Castillo was the taller of the two. Hatton was a mild betting favorite.

Hamed was done before he even stepped into the ring with Barrera. It wasn't that loss that forced him into retirement. He just didn't want to box anymore.

I think the Ricky Hatton stuff is being a bit overstated, he wasn't exactly atg material beforehand - he got a great win against tszyu but other than that he's kinda meh - he put in a totally shlt performance against collazo (I think it was) before the floyd fight and was almost out on his feet at the end of it. Compare that to say Jeff Lacey, he was dynamite before Calzaghe and completely crap after Calzaghe. Thats a different league of fighters being ruined by a fight.

An interesting one that I don't think has been mentioned is David Tua as although he didn't really take a terrible pounding against Lewis he was never quite the same after it. I think he was just handled so skillfully and easily that it sort of shattered his self belief and confidence.

Roy Jones Jr and Vic Darchinyan come to mind.

                  1) Castillo was coming in close to 150 since 2000 or so.

                  2) Castillo does NOT fight like Hatton. Period.

Tua's first loss was to Ike Ibeabuchi.

Then there's a guy like Hector Camacho Sr., who was never the same after his first tough fight (with Rosario).
