You guys are making a pretty good point. When Hatton faced Mayweather, he could tell himself going into the fight that he beat Zoo and JLC who although faded or shot, were the best fighters around their weight for quite some time. What I am trying to say is that regardless of the circumstances, beating those two must have been a big upper for his ego, and being so thoroughly tamed must have been a very rough fall...

David Reid had a massive fall off in what should have been his prime. I expected him to beat Trinidad before their fight.

I think De La Hoya could come under this category. He still had a decent career after the loss to Trinidad but I don't think he was anywear near a good of a fighter.
