Does Randy Turpin qualify as a one-hit wonder?

Interesting pick. Laing had major talent that only came to fruition once which was against Roberto Duran.

margarito was actually considered a total monster and the most avoided man in boxing for many many years.

not a one hit wonder by any stretch

I think not. Margarito was an animal back in the day.

IMO he doesn't qualify since Mesa had no big wins and never lost a pro fight.

This got me thinking, who are some other one hit wonders in boxing? Guys that came out of no where and beat a star, a legend, only to fade away just as quickly as they came to the top.
Akinobu Hiranaka won a shocking one round KO over Edwin Rosario for the WBA 140 pound title in Mexico. He did nothing of note before that, lost his next fight, and never fought again.

i remember when he and antonio diaz fought for the vacant 147 title, i'm a huge diaz bro's fan, and was like "who's this skinny mf'er, easy work" .... man was i wrong. it was after that fight that i knew that margarito's pressure was something out of this world.
