Very true. But had the ref stopped Dempsey from going to the nuts The illegal shot that opened up Sharkey for the ko may not have occurred. It is what it is, but Dempsey's repeated illegal blows took an unfair toll.

protect yourself at all times


even if the punches are low, unless the ref says stop, all other blows are legal.

low blows usually take a second or two to be called and recognized.
that's plenty of time for a few punches to land if a guy is throwing a combination. it's your responsibility to protect yourself from those punches
if they knock you out you are at fault



people who are upset about the mayweather and ortiz fight don't understand boxing.

victor will have a very short career
he's already been knocked out twice
been in two fight of the year type wars (berto and maidana,) where he came off the canvas and was badly hurt

he's not a fleet boxer. i've been saying this for years, he boxes like his front foot is stuck in the mud.

he's just so easy to hit. he's too old to go back and get redeveloped, and the nature of his loss wont set him back to the point where he will need to rebuild.

Yeah i agree about Ortiz, i said to my missus just the other day Vic wont have a long career not with his defence and the type of fights he gets in.

I Love to watch him tho, there cant be more than a few boxers id rather watch than Victor Ortiz today, just love his style and how he throws his shots. Not the best style or fighter but damn good to watch and im just gonna enjoy his prime while he has one!
