Its not a good enough fight to rewatch but I had Chavez clearly winning before Whitaker's barrage of low blows

The difference is that Whitaker fought 12 rounds with a broken jaw. Chavez punked out and quit in the Randall rematch to avoid losing and possibly getting knocked out. A little blood was too much for Chavez to handle.

Plus quitting in the DLH rematch and then going ape in the dressing room when asked about it; hiding from a third fight with Randall when it mattered; hiding behind King when King was calling for Randall-Whitaker etc. When Pea had a debated call against Rivera, he came right back at it. Pea had a lot of problems outside the ring but I have no doubt his in-ring character surpassed Chavez and that's why he owned his ass.

LOL absolutely. That makes two fights when Chavez blatantly quit. It's good to see somebody who doesn't ignore these parts of Chavez career.

CHavez didn't win the fight neither did Pernell it was a draw. It just shows how overrated Pernell was that with all the low blows and a weight advantage the best he could do was a draw

You only need too watch the fight once too see that Whitaker clearly deserved the decision
