Odlanier Solis is the greatest amateur heavyweight to ever turn pro, and he's done little as a professional. What is this thread about?

If he stays undefeated, he's finishing top 15 or 10 all time. A win over Margarito (Arum fighter) or Williams has little effect on that. Pac would count more, but again that's an Arum fighter. A fight between Floyd and an Arum fighter not happening is a different animal than wasted potential.

talented enough that he could have been there with Mayweather and Pacquiao as the top P4P fighters of this generation and an all time great.
Wasn't he compared to Pernell Whitaker early in his career too?

              • I always thought that if Tim Witherspoon had had the willpower as of other all-time greats, he would have belonged among them.

People attribute his career falling short to fighting Trinidad too soon. Of course he did have weight problems as well.

He was just an incomplete fighter, he didn't have what it took mentally. I mean the guy outboxed Mayweather for four rounds straight, when the hell else has that ever happened?
