Who disagrees? Both officially and in reality, Kessler came closest to beating Calz. The ****** hag who scored the fight for Hopkins was obviously biased. Kessler landed far more hard punches on Joe than Bhop did.

Kessler landed more hard blows but they were during the first 4 rounds. Guys like Calzaghe, Mayweather and jmm tend to struggle during the first 1/4 of a fight because they walk in the ring with only a general gameplan and make the necessary adjustments in the fight itself.From round 5 onwards Calzaghe had basically neutralised Kessler right hand. He struggled to land any right hook/uppercuts and it was that tactical adjustment that left him confused.

The same thing happened with Hopkins - Calzaghe took his right hand counter away from him and Hopkins was confused from that point on.

I agree with that. Especially JMM tends to start slow. He builds up in the latter half of the fight particularly. But Kessler did well also after the 4th round. I thought he won round 8. Hopkins on other hand didn't win a single round after the 7th and Lederman didn't give him one either. Not trying to say Lederman knows so much, but he usually is biased against foreign fighters, unless they are very flashy.

I agree that Kessler came closer than Hopkins and I also think that Kessler landed the harder shots than Bernard even though he scored a flash KD.

What is worth noting is that Kessler broke his right hand 3 weeks before the fight. That meant that he couldn't spar and he had to have the hand sedated before the fight. Even then he managed to land some punishing uppercuts on Joe.

The hand was surgically repaired afterwards.
