      Swap Kenny Lane and Dave Charnley with Ismael Laguna and Joe Brown.

      These two ATG Lightweights have to be amongst Ortiz' best wins.

      Kenny Lane and Dave Charnley were good fighters but not compared to ATG Lightweights like Laguna and Brown.

        Oh ok. When I'm not as familiar as fighters as I should be (and I'll be honest, 50's-60's lightweights are a BIG weak spot for me), I go on boxrec, find the ten or so highest rated fighters and go through those guys' win-loss records. If I made a mistake, I'll correct it.

        EDIT: I remember the specific reason I put Lane in there, though. He was the defending champ, Ortiz was like fifteen years old and he knocked him out in two (i think)

          You have alot to chose from with Carlos Oritz. The more I think about it the more I think he could be clased as argubally the greatest Lightweight of all time, seriously.

          His Top wins include;

          Joe Brown
          Ismael Laguna x2
          Flash Elorde x2
          Duilo Loi
          Sugar Ramos x2
          Nicolino Locche*

          And that's just the HOF'ers and ATG's he beat.

          Other excellent wins over Top ranked opposition include;

          Battling Torres
          Kenny Lane x2
          Johnny Busso
          Douglas Valiant

          etc etc etc

            He was quite a fighter. I only saw limited films, but he was so fast. You don't often hear too much about a right to the body, but his was real real quick and he threw it a lot. I don't know if I'd say GOAT lightweight, though. My rankings actually have him higher than Duran, but I would put Duran above him if I was just going to arrange them without the numbers. Duran took everyone in his weight class and smashed them.

                1. Did we ever vote on the 20 Billion point contest? If so, who won?
                2. Would anyone be interested in me starting this up again? I just read through it, and I must say, I think I had a pretty good idea here.

                  1. Good question, I can't remember if IronDanHamza won it for the Cocoa Kid thread or that was the 1 billion contest. I think it was and for the 20 billion one. Anyone who made a thread was given 1 billion as not enough were made.

                  2. Yeah it's a good idea, would be a good idea to start it up again and other people can join in!

                    Good enough for me! My computer access is sort of limited, but I'll start back up on doing this ASAP.

                    If anyone wants to give it a crack, I more than welcome it. Just please try and make sure you use the same weightings that I do or it could get out of hand quick.
