Hagler's 2nd best win is a close decision against a well past prime blown up lightweight

No, it's the second best "name" not the win. His first win against Hamsho is probably better than the Duran win in all fairness.

It's obvious you go onto boxrec just looking for "names" after that statement.

And if you think it was close you're a ****** of have a sight deficiency.

Problem 'with Hagler' (it's not actually with him) is that we really only hear about his chin, which truly exceptional as it was, was far from his only asset.

It's not really an uncommon thing, for example some people hear Foreman and think 'power' and forget there was a deceptive speed and sometimes skill to his game.

hagler wasnt that big of a mw either... he would come in under 160 sometimes....

he skill, power, determination, and one of the greatest chins of all time.

Psst, he didn't beat Ray Leonard.

But I agree that Hagler haters say that his legend is based on wins over smaller legends like Hearns and Duran.....and that he couldn't beat another smaller guy in Ray Leonard.

Lets face it though, Hagler was the complete package. Easily one of the best middleweights ever!

Hagler clearly beat Duran but only by a round or 2 it was very competitive. Also IMO Duran beating Davey Moore is more impressive than any thing Hansho did in his career but either way Hamsho or Duran as a 2nd best win isn't any better. Most ATGs like Ali, Hopkins, Foreman, Sanchez, Morales etc. There 2nd best win is against another ATG someone like Sonny Liston, Trinidad, Frazier, Gomez, or Barrera

Some people feel being a contrarian shows intelligence.

Joe Louis is a bona fide Top 2 Heavyweight tell me his second best win.

Ali vs Liston - Liston is arguably 38 years old. Just throwing that in there.

I agree completely but you also can't bash recent fighters for not having a great resume and not bash Hagler also. Hagler is ranked highly for the same reason Larry Holmes and Floyd Mayweather are, great skills and that is it, all of them have crappy resumes(when compared to other ATGs)
