I could not resist putting another thread...what to I am so bored...

Here are the questions, and for the first time I am trying to make this as tough as possible

    1) Name the fight where the combined weight of the two boxers was the max in history?

    2) Which Champ holds the record for maximum number of defeats?

    3) When was the very first boxing stadium erected ?

    4) Who were the last 2 fighters to participate in a fight to the finish ?

5)Who has won the max "title fight rounds"?

    6) Why is Pedlar Palmer famous?

    7) When was the first mouthpiece used?

    8) I dont now of any one who has an actual iron jaw, but I can tell you guys I had a metal jaw ? Who AM I?

    1. Eric Esch Vs. Joe Sicilano? 731 Lbs?

    2. Fritzie Zivic?

    3. The 'Figgs Amphitheatre' was the first Boxing stadium I believe. The date it was erected is up for debate, but I believe it was 1917.

    4. Sam Langford Jim Savage

    5. Emile Griffith

    6. That's one hell of an open question, my friend. Pedlar Palmer was one hell of a character.

He was famous across London because he was the son of a Champion fighter, not just his father, his Mother also!

He was obviously famous for being a World Champion.

He was famous in the Boxing world because he was the first fighter to win a World Title by way of Disqualification.

But no, the answer is he was famous because he was convicted for killing someone.

My uncle used to tell me about Palmer and has the book that was recently published by one of his family members and apparently it's a really good read. I haven't got round to it yet.

    7. Ted Kid Lewis Vs Jack Britton (1915)

    8. Eugene Criqui

Well done...The Palmer question was a bit generic accepted....But you gave a great answer anyway.

I wasn't 100% sure on the Emile Griffith answer and the Eric Esch and Fritzie Zivic answers were top of the head answers but I'm elated with the results

I just thought of a boxing history trivia question. I don't know the answer to it though, that's why I'm asking.

Name a fighter that fought in five decades (if there is one). There's a lot of fighters that have fought in four decades- Duran (70's - 00's) Hopkins and Holyfied (80's - 10's) but I can't think of anyone who fought in five...

Saoul Mamby had his first fight in 1969 and his last in 2008,only had one fight in the 60's but technically it counts
