You could shrink Hopkins and Wright into welterweight frames and they would still beat Tito's ass. They are simply bad matchups for him and would always have been regardless of what weight class it was fought in.

Tito wasn't a welterweight by the time he fought Hopkins and especially by the time he fought Wright either.

He was a legit middleweight against Hopkins. Just look at how he handled Joppy (dropped him numerous times and stopped him in 5, first time he ever been stopped in 34 fights). Hopkins did everything he could to try and stop Joppy years later but he couldn't do it.

He was a heavy favourite going into that fight also. Hopkins was just too smart, too skilled, too good for Trinidad.

His loss to Wright was not long after a two year layoff, but that was down to Wright simply being better than him, not the weight.

As a slugger his great size as a welterweight was after his power the main thing that made him great.

No welterweight in the history of boxing could of done any better against Hopkins in their 2nd fight ever at middleweight

No, because he was a better all around fighter than Trinidad and wouldn't just be looking for the ko. It's all most a fool proof guarantee he wouldn't get knocked out and would present many more problems than the one dimensional Tito.

Tito would frustrate you as a fan because you know he's losing to a good boxer. But he's one of the most exciting stand-and-trade fighters I have ever seen. If he has his way, you know it's going to be a wild shootout and that's really the best reason to like him.

I didn't mean lose in the same exact terms I just meant dominated and that is what would happen to Emile Griffin or any other welterweight

Trinidad was an undefeated welterweight champion for years. Then he went on to win titles in two other divisions, losing only three times in his entire career. Just curious, but how much potential do you think he had?
