Muhammad Ali said Foreman cut the ring off better than any fighter he had fought. Ali claimed that was the reason he altered his strategy and went to plan B:Fighting off the ropes or without the movement.

Foreman was quick when it came to cutting off the ring/shortening the distance on his opponents.

I think the telegraphing was part of his game, when he wanted to he could through very technical, accurate shots. Again the Norton fight really illustrates this, most punches thrown from the first knockdown on are very different than the ones he shows earlier in the fight.

Not very much speed with the wide, telegraphed, looping shots he would throw with either hand to the head or body, but not too bad for his size when he threw the jab (underused by the younger iteration) or straight right. And as Joseph said, pretty fast feet when he was cutting off the ring. I remember being surprised watching him jump up and down in one of his earlier fights just how explosive his legs were, people usually think of him as this slow plodder, because of the 250-300 lb older version, or the younger one next to Ali.

George had deceptively good speed in the early rounds. Once he started to tire in the mid rounds it was a much different story.
