  • Who do you rate p4p higher: Harry Greb or Henry Armstrong

They both were the ultimate swarming fighters, whirlwinds in motion, however who do you rate p4p higher? is it Greb for beating 18 hall of famers and being faster and more maneuverable, or Armstrong with his holding of 3 titles simultaneously. Personally I take Greb,

Who do you think was p4p greater?

Greb. He beat the better overall fighters and did did it with greater disadvantages in weight. Both were marvels in the ring, but for my money Greb is the greater fighter.

What a great question! That's about as close a contest as you can get.

I can make a solid argument for each of them, either way & would like to call their fight a "Draw". But that's too girly-like, not giving an opinion.

If they would have fought each other 100 times, I'd pick Greb to win 51 of them.

But that's not to diminsih the greatness of Henry Armstrong in any way. These are two of the all-time super-duper elite fighters!

I ranked Henry higher on my last list, but its really even. Harry was equally great. He just didn't live long enuff to have a bigger resume. But its already big enough.

Damn man, how much bigger and better could it have gotten? He was ducked by Carpentier for the Worlds light heavyweight title and ducked by Dempsey for the heavyweight title. Besides that he fought every top fighter who would fight him.

Really don't know how you can use Greb in H2H match ups with absolutely no footage of him other then some friendly sparring with Philly Jack, after saying that based on Resume Greb takes it imo.

frankly I simply cannot rate Greb until Ive seen him. I just cant.

If were just looking at number of wins of top rated opposition and trying to be objective about it since we dont really know how good a lot of those guys were either due to lack of film...then you can make a very strong case for Greb.

If there were one fighter I would like to see more than anyone else(that footage doesnt exist of), it would be Greb.

There is actually a lot of film of many of Grebs top opponents. And while we can't see him fight we can see them fight as well as take in newspaper accounts of the day. I think an educated conclusion can be reached like that. I do agree with NChristo that it is difficult to match him up h2h because we can't see him fight. The things we do know are that he fought a ton of great fighters and beat most of them easily.
