Lennox ate plenty of ferocious shots that night, but he protected his face sufficiently. Vitali was unable to protect his - hence the damage.
Blaming the doctor is a cop out. No doctor who swore the Hippocratic Oath could live with himself after sending out a fighter wearing that kind of damage. It was horrific. Moreover, had Lennox landed another on that region Vitali may have suffered permanent disfigurement and/or vision impairment.
Vitali deserves credit for putting up a good fight. But he lost fair and square.
