That said there were plenty of knockdowns and it is true, his chin was an area to be exploited.
And the Ali stoppages were both with Patterson on his feet.

Getting knocked out by Sonny Liston (IMO the hardest puncher in heavyweight history) and Johannson are not indicative of having a glass chin.

Comparing the chins of Patterson and Johansson, i'd say it was Floyd who had the better punch resistance. When Ingo went down, it was for keeps. Remember him getting properly nailed at the end of the 12th vs Brian London, was literally saved by the bell, and had his hand raised while out on his stool.. London was'nt exactly a beast, and was handled with ease by Patterson prior to fighting Ingo..
His 'Bingo' punch is'nt quite up there with the suziQ, Foreman's uppercut, or Fraziers left hook, but was nevertheless a very potent equalizer for a fairly limited skillset..

What an extaordinary asset he was to his nation though. I defy anyone on this forum to have ever even met a Swedish boxer, let alone a European and undisputed world hvwt champ. Big ups to the man really.

Ingo's right hand was big..in terms of KO powers one of the best, he could and did stop a lot of guys with it...

And for a boxer who was average at best it was really the best he had.
