Still, you are 100% correct about Basketball and its growth beyond it's humble birth in Springfield, Massachusetts. An honest omission. Thanks for that. Like Electricity, Flight, Electronic com*****g, the Personal computer, the Internet, GPS, the Telephone, Radio, the Lightbulb, the Moving Assembly line, Vulcanized rubber, Motion pictures, Mobile phones, Email, Chemotherapy, Video games, Light emitting diodes, Lasers, Microwave ovens, Radiocarbon dating, Traffic lights, Clasp lockers, Hearing aids, interchangeable parts, the Cotton gin, Computer aided design, Air conditioning, the Liquid fuel rocket, the Inertia shoulder harness reel, industrial robots, 3D printing, photographic film, etc, etc, etc.
Bloody Yanks, ya?

Boxing is a sport; prize fighting is a fist fight.
The problem is that the apologists keep trying to make prize fighting a sport by over emphasizing boxing skills. Too much punch counting not enough respect for effectiveness.
Stop apologizing for the brutality. Stop trying to BS yourself into believing prize fighting is a sport. You're ruining the game.
Split Decisions! What nonsense.Last edited by Willie Pep 229; 10-18-2023, 01:05 PM.

Boxing is a freak show attraction. Not all the freak show attractions were derogatory to the performers. Boxing's just one of those.
If throwing balls at a target to dunk a clown got like ****** popular it too might be called a sport, business, event, etc. Still just a fair game.
World's Strongest Man, Miss Universe, Mister Olympia, stunts, etc. ... freak shows that got ****** popular. Like boxing.
Prize fight, sometimes, sport, sometimes, business, sometimes. Sometimes dudes do **** for legacy instead of money. Sometimes dudes are just brawlers. Sometimes they're sparring more than fighting, but always, freaks.
