I wouldn't say Holyfield was easy to hit, not in the way that, say, Rid**** Bowe was easy to hit. Evander wasn't a defense artist by any means but he gave opponents enough angles that they had to work for their shots.

I have Holyfield at 7 and Foreman at 8 on my Heavyweight list and in my mind they're really interchangable.

Consdering Joe Fraizer was the undefeated Lineal Champion when George Foreman beat him and the in the fashion he did was remarkable. Same goes for the fashion he beat Ken Norton.

In the space of 6 years George Foreman stopped Fraizer x2, Norton, Chuvalo and Lyle in 5 rounds or less.

THEN, 17 years later beating a title holder in Moorer to become the oldest HW world champion ever.

I can't see how Holyfield has better accomplismnets than that personally.
Holyfield is the best Cruiserweight of all time, who knocked out some of the other best other Cruiserweights ever...Carlos DeLeon is pretty easily the 2nd best Cruiserweight ever, and Ocassio and Qawi have to be up there too.

then he moved up in weight to beat Dokes, Rodriguez, fat Douglas, old Foreman, old Holmes, Bowe, Mercer, Tysonx2, Moorer, Ruiz and Rahman(the last two wins coming at old age).

lets not forget that Holyfield himself deserved to beat Valuev at 45, although what Foreman did at that age is more impressive.

p4p I think that being the best Cruiserweight ever with impressive wins there+having a very respectable HW rating>Foreman's short dominance(albeit over exellent fighters) and comeback at 45.

        I was refering to HW.

But at the same time I personally think Foreman's HW run although not overly lenghty still has a strong case for being better than Holyfield resume for resume.

Of course it's obviously up for debate and a very good question.

Evander Holyfield accomlplished great things in 2 weight classes. Best Cruiserweight of Alltime & top 5-10 heavy of alltime. When he destroyed Tyson & Moorer in succession..he was being discussed as top 3 or more right before he fought Lewis. Evander has fought the best heavyweight competition this side of Ali & Lewis. He's the ONLY one to have fought Bowe Lewis & Tyson & he fought them 7 times & who else has fought ancient Foreman/Holmes,,, James Toney,, Chris Byrd. I believe he's fought the most alltime greats at Heavy than anyone & held his own.. 4 times winning the belt.. Foreman Only WON IT TWICE bY BEATING GLASS chinned Frazier & Moorer. Holyfield should've been a 5 time belt holder but was robbed twice..actually 3 times>>> second Lewis fight.. had LEWIS staggering all over the ring & nearly Ko'ed.. The Ruiz 3rd fight where he cracked his jaw only to get a draw & that robbery in Germany vs Valuev WHICH WOULD've broke George's record.. Holy without A doubt & he ain't done yet as he got bigger fish to fry than Foreman's grill.. He's thinking about overtaking Louis & Ali by grabbing all 4 belts...

It's true Holyfield is the more skilled & varied fighter all-round & on-paper, but you could say that about a hell of a lot of guys who just happened to find themselves victims of Foreman. Frazier, Peralta, Moorer, Norton...there were plenty. The better all-round boxer isn't always the better man in the ring, & such would be the case here, IMO.

I have George Foreman in my top 10 pound for pound modern(last 40-50 years) boxers. I am not sure Holyfield even makes my top 50

I have to say on achievements i have to give it to Holyfield for lasting so long and for his heart.

So much happenned in Holyfield's career when it would have been simple for him to just hang up the gloves but he kept fighting and kept fighting. He never gave up, was never a quitter always showed heart.

Foreman...losing in the Jungle and being unable to fix a rematch with Ali destroyed him mentally. It destroyed his character and he had a mental breakdown which gave him a decade off before he came back. Was the Moorer victory that great? Its more like Moorer underestimated Grandpa George who outpsyched him like Ali did with Foreman.

So for mental toughness I give it to Holyfield. Cos he never had to take that 10 year break. He just got back on his bike every time.

Holyfield was doping. You have to consider that when your comparing these two. We don't know how long he was using steroids also.

Holyfield is 1-2 against Rid**** Bowe
Holyfield is 0-1-1 against Lennox Lewis
Holyfield is 1-1-1 against John Ruiz
Holyfield also got TKO'd against a old, fat James Toney

Holyfield is 43-10-2 with 1 NC
Foreman is 76-5 and he had a lengthy retirement in his prime and never took roids.

The answer is easily Foreman IMO
